“Yuka” Dinner by the Kamo River (Kyoto)

During summer, try taking a walk along the Kamo River between Sanjo and Shijo. There you will find a lot of balconies made of wood, called “Yuka”. These “Yuka” are as indicative as the warm weather that Kyoto’s summer has arrived. You will find that summer in Kyoto is very hot. Therefore Kyoto people love enjoying meals on the “Yuka” to escape the heat.

While enjoying your meal you will have an attractive view over the Kamo river and get a breath of fresh air. Many restaurants along the Kamo River are expensive, but I can bring you to a restaurant with a delicious dinner at a reasonable price.

Price: about 3,000 Yen + Seat Reservation Fee 500 Yen. The food cost depends on your order, drinks are not included. notice: Visitors are required to cover all costs for the guide (including meals up to a limit of 1000 Yen per person). Please discuss details with the guide directly.

Meeting Point: at the south-east corner of Shijo-Kawabata (in front of the Theater called Minami-Za)

Meeting Time: at 6:30 p.m. on weekends

Dinner Time: about 2 hours

In case it rains: Don’t worry! You can enjoy your dinner inside the restaurant located in a traditional Japanese style house.

Optional Tour before Dinner: I recommend the following day tour before dinner:Higashiyama Day Tour (Kiyomizu Temple, Sanju-Sangen-Do Temple and so on.)
